Submit Data
By depositing your project information and data into the BCO-DMO data system, your data become shareable, citable resources available for community reuse. To discuss an existing or proposed project, please email info@bco-dmo.org
Can I Submit Data to BCO-DMO?
You should contribute data to BCO-DMO if your project is funded by NSF OCE's Biological or Chemical Oceanography Sections or the Division of Polar Programs' Antarctic Organisms & Ecosystems Program.
BCO-DMO provides data management services at no additional cost to projects funded by NSF's Division of Ocean Sciences' Biological and Chemical Oceanography Sections and the Division of Polar Programs' Antarctic Organisms & Ecosystems Program.
BCO-DMO staff members work with researchers funded by these NSF programs to ensure that data and metadata contributed to BCO-DMO are in compliance with the current NSF OCE Sample and Data Policy (NSF 17-037). To contribute data to BCO-DMO, follow the 5 steps from this page, starting with Register Project. If your project is funded by another source: we have a list of some suggested data management centers

Collaborate
Once you've submitted your data and necessary forms a Data Manager will begin the process of making the data available online.
We strive to develop robust metadata that will ensure the data are easily discoverable and reusable.
Your Data Manager will contact you with follow-up questions or requests for more information to ensure that the metadata is complete. This may be an iterative process, so your patience and cooperation are greatly appreciated.
